The Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit (SJDB) comes in the form of a non-transferable voucher that can be used to pay for educational retraining or skill enhancement at state-approved or accredited schools.

Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit (SJDB) Voucher

A supplemental job displacement benefit voucher guarantees to assist with payment for an educational training and skill enhancement at state-approved or state-accredited school. The voucher pays for tuition expenses, computer equipment, books, occupational licensing and professional certification fees or other costs required by the school for retraining .

Voucher Amounts

For injuries between Jan. 1, 2004 and Dec. 31, 2012, the sum of the voucher depends on the level of your disability award:

Up to $4,000 voucher for permanent partial disability of less than 15 percent
Up to $6,000 voucher for permanent partial disability between 15 and 25 percent
Up to $8,000 voucher for permanent partial disability between 26 and 49 percent
Up to $10,000 voucher for permanent partial disability between 50 and 99 percent

For injuries happening on or after Jan 1, 2013, the sum of the voucher is $6000.

Expiration

The voucher does not expire if issued before Jan. 1, 2013. If issued on or after Jan. 1, 2013, the voucher will expire within two years of being issued or five years from the date of injury, whichever date comes later.

The benefit is made available as a non-transferable voucher that can be used for paying education-related retraining process or skill development. The education or training needs to be pursued from a state-approved or state-accredited school or institution only.

Return-to-Work Supplement Program

Employees injured on or after January 1, 2013, who have received a SJDB  voucher may also qualify for an additional one-time $5,000 payment. The Return-to-Work Supplement Program (RTWSP) will mail approved applicants a $5,000 check that can be used to supplement the earnings lost from being injured.

One-on-One CONSULTATIONS

Providing consultations by experienced and professional Counselorswill conduct an assessment to identify the skills needed to maximize new career opportunities. Our goal is to identify such transferable skills early in our consultation which is crucial in advising and planning for a new career.

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

Integrate into learning courses, providing them with the necessary resources and communicating efficiently the needs of work industries sso our injured workers can thrive in a new career.

EMPLOYMENT PREPARATION

PS Vocational Consulting, Inc. will conduct this examination to identify the skills needed to maximize new career opportunities. Our goal is to identify such transferable skills early in our consultation which is crucial in advising and planning for a new career.
